This part-time EMBA consists of 21 courses (90 ECTS) split over four modules and completed within 24 months. Our EMBA program is completely executive-friendly. Classes take place in the evening and on weekends (1 course every 4 weeks).


168 hours, 28 ECTS

Module Objective:

To master the hard management skills necessary to lead any company or organization.


The courses:

1. Strategy and corporate governance:

The strategic process will be reviewed: external analysis, internal analysis, SWOT matrix, strategic scenarios, decision making, implementation issues, and the role of the major players in the strategic decision-making process.


2. Accounting and introduction to financial analysis:

Understanding financial statements and how to prepare them, you will be confronted with key financial analysis tools and planning/control systems.


3. Corporate finance:

The course mainly deals with valuation, capital budgeting, financing analysis, and decisions. It covers issues such as (1) cash flows generated by a project, (2) timing of cash flows, and (3) risk of the project, back to fundamental concepts and exposure to practical cases.


4. Marketing management:

Using case studies, this course will make you aware of the importance of marketing, understand the contemporary approach and culture of marketing in Business and non-profit organizations and provide you with key marketing concepts and basic tools, especially the strategic ones.


5. Human resources management:

HRM can make a difference by adding value to an organization! The course covers topics such as motivation and satisfaction key drivers, job analysis and job description, recruitment and selection processes, training and development programs and appraisal, and compensation systems.


6. Management of business systems:

Business strategies lead nowhere if they are not implemented through efficient systems, including organizational process flows, supply chains, and IT architecture. You will examine this issue from a transversal point of view, understanding how crucial it is to bring consistency to the system while simultaneously managing conflicting objectives (costs vs. quality and service levels, …).


Business case:

At the end of the 6 management fundamentals courses, you will have to choose one of the subjects, find a company and solve a business case. You will critically review the business situation and recommend a solution based on an analytical approach to the tools and techniques learned in the fundamental courses. You will be closely coached to use suitable analysis and decisions making methods.


72 hours, 16 ECTS

Module Objective :

To master the relations between Business and its environment in a long term and worldwide view.


The courses:

1. Global economic and geopolitical issues:

Focus on the major geopolitical forces shaping the world and the relationship between Asia and the Western world. Specific attention is brought to the situation of Vietnam as a new player in the international business environment (WTO, …).


2. Law, society, corporate governance and social responsibility:

You will develop a critical outlook on the interaction between Business and law with a focus on corporate governance and labor regulations. The responsibilities of Business towards its environment (citizens, nature, public opinion) will be the last subject of the course.


3. Managing the future:

Project yourself into the future! You will be forced to imagine how Business will be run in the coming years, taking into account major trends such as the technology revolution, sustainable development, social conduct, and globalization. Creativity will be at the hub in terms of skill acquisition here.


4. International business law:

How to safely run a business in an international environment, considering legal issues, using arbitration courts (very much used in Vietnam); special attention to antitrust laws, competition and international transactions.


135 hours + a comprehensive field project, 30 ECTS 

Module Objective:

To develop your capability, as manager with a leader ambition, to integrate the interactions dimensions of the management


The courses:

1. Business & financial planning:

Used in the context of starting ventures or existing businesses, the business plan is a key tool used for management. You will learn how to build a full business plan and go deeper into the financial part of it since it is the translation of all recommendations in quantitative forecasts used by decision-makers to make their final opinion.


2. Business Game:

This special session of 2 full days gives you the opportunity to manage virtually, in the team, a company competing with 4 other companies in the same industry. The serious Game is an educational tool for learning rapidly how the different components of a company interact (in success or failure)—also a good lesson in teamwork.


3.Management & organization:

Exploring traditional and new models of business organization, the course will cover the impact of environment and technology on the various types of organizational structures. Linked to organizational structures, the role of culture will then be examined in order to understand the consequences in terms of functioning and decision-making.


4. Management of innovation:

This is a course on the strategic management of innovation and Intellectual Property Rights. Its purpose is to explore the innovation phenomenon and understand the managerial and organizational challenges presented by innovation management. Crucial in our times!


5. Strategic business intelligence:

Starting from an analysis of how strategic management decision-making should use proper information, the course covers issues such as information sourcing, business intelligence systems, and trade-offs between cost, quality, and relevance of collected data. You will «learn by doing», working on practical cases covering strategic decision making in several areas (marketing, corporate strategy, etc..…).


6. Project management:

This discipline is about planning and organizing the operations as well as securing and managing the resources needed to successfully complete a project. Starting with the basics (process approach, information and management issues), the course will develop process approaches (piloting, support, and operational processes) and offer a cartography of project management processes.


7. International Business Field Project (IBFP):

You will realize and present a real consulting project to the team for a company with a real problem to solve. This problem will be related to any management discipline but will have some international content or occur in an international company.

The project will take place on a 3 to 4 months period, free from classes or any other academic work. Your group will be placed under guidance from specially trained coaches following a strict coaching procedure. At the end of the process, you will deliver a written report and an oral presentation to the client company.


8. Elective course (new from 2017 in HCMC):

Taking one course from another Solvay Master program, you will widen your knowledge and interact with other students specialized in their field.


54 hours + a lot of practice + the Final Master’s Presentation, 10 ECTS

Module Objective:Soft skills are now a key part of any MBA program as people’s ability to handle the soft skills side of Business is crucial to successful business conduct. Increasingly, companies are just assessing their current staff and future recruits on their knowledge but also on a whole bunch of soft skill competencies, including how well they relate and communicate to others.


The courses:

1. People leadership and team empowerment:

By focusing on group behaviors and personal (self) understanding, you will become aware of your own leadership style, better understand others’ behaviors and get to know available tools offered to managers to cope with all this. You will be confronted with leadership, power, and influence issues by looking more deeply at interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, conflict resolutions, charisma, etc.


2. Personal communication, business argumentation and negotiation:

You will learn how to use the adequate tools to better convince other parties, inside or outside your own organization. The focus will be on verbal and non-verbal communication, clarity and deep meaning of the message, as well as talents to persuade. Some will also be used to introduce the basics of cooperative negotiation techniques.


3. Career management and personal branding:

The main reason for following an MBA program is to get immediate and long-term returns on time and money spent. This workshop will help you maximize your own ROI! (Return on investment). Career management is not only about negotiating your next position in your company: it’s about monitoring your career journey in order to cope with personal, family, and, of course, financial and personal goals. You will write your own personal strategy and create your « personal brand », based on a clear positioning statement and extensively using social networking.


4. The final Master’s Presentation (“grand oral”):

The final test intended to convince a jury that the title of Master of Business Administration can be rightly awarded. The jury will evaluate if you are able to solve a business problem under stress and time constraint using concepts and tools taught in the program and if you can explain how you grew your competencies and personality through the MBA experience.

– Tuition fees: 14.500 USD (split into 3 installments: 1 month, 6 months, 12 months from starting day)



Solvay Brussels School offers a “Promising leader scholarship” every year to outstanding students who are meeting a big challenge in paying the tuition fee. This selective scholarship is granted based on an assessment and an evaluation of the candidate by a scholarship jury. For the EMBA, we give:


2 merit scholarships of 50% of the tuition fee.

4 merit scholarships of 25% of the tuition fee.

How to apply and Process

1. Complete and submit the application form with all necessary documents.

2. If the candidate requests for the scholarship, she/he will have to answer the extra question during the admission written test (specific case to get more score and more chance to get a scholarship).

3. Only candidates accepted to the program after all the admission tests & interviews are eligible to run for the scholarship.

4. Announcement of the 5 top with the highest score which is eligible for the scholarship (The overall score for admission assessment is the sum of application, written test, and admission interview).

5. The eligible candidate for the scholarship will have the scholarship interview with the jury to be challenged the last time.

6. Announcement of the scholarship result.

Point of assessment for the selection

Thanks to the candidate application file, the interviews, and the admission test, the jury will evaluate the candidate to select a unique & merit profile:

– Financial needed.
– The motivation.
– Traits and manner for leadership (confidence, innovative mindset, positive thinking, motivation through the presentation, gestures…).
– The success case’s quality, the candidate’s involvement, hardness, decision making etc.
– Extent of understanding of the economic situations and management.


– The scholarship is calculated in accordance with the tuition applicable to the deadlines.
– Scholarship is not convertible to cash and not transferable.
– Scholarship will not be granted to candidates whom the company sponsors regardless of the amount.
– The Jury board reserves the right to decide the total number of scholarships or types of scholarships granted based on the selection results and based on the total number of applications.
