2019 Graduation Ceremony in HCMC
On July 13 2019, Solvay Brussels School Vietnam celebrated 36 fresh Master from The Joint Master Program between HCMC Open University (HCMC-OU) and Solvay Brussels School, ULB since 1995.
The celebration had an honor to have representatives from the two universities, directors and professors of the program, distinguished guests from Beluxcham. From HCMC-OU, we had Professor Nguyen Minh Ha (Rector of HCMC-OU), Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thi Phuong Thao (Co-Director of Vietnam – Belgium Programs), Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan (Vice Head of Graduate School). From Solvay Brussels School, we had professor Michel Allé (Dean of Solvay Vietnam), Dr. Trung Dinh (Scientific Director of Solvay Vietnam), professor Harold de Walque. We also had Mr. Jan Serger, Chairman of Beluxcharm Vietnam, together with press, family and friends of graduates.
Welcome 36 students joining Solvay Alumni Community
The ceremony started with the congratulation speech from Professor Nguyen Minh Ha and prof. Michel Alle. The hall was filled with happiness and proud of each graduate and their beloved ones. This day marked an important milestone of 36 Solvay member on finalizing successfully their master degree. We are delighted to welcome them to join with 2700 member in Alumni community.
Represented for Solvay, Dr. Trung Dinh gave special presents to two students (Mr.Nguyen Dang Hai – MBAVB11 and Ms.Nguyen Kim Ngan – MMCoM11) for their excellent academic performance. Standing on stage, with the proud sparkling in the eyes, Kim Ngan shared her feeling “Everyone here has their own share of excitement and stories that they will carry along their life. The best thing about the education system here in Solvay Brussels is that they let you choose your own speed, you are not judged by the scores in your grade-sheet and help you to be.
Thank you for improving every day, and helping us be in align with the current market condition through your developed policies. All the efforts from the student tutors, professors, career consultants helps make a student feel at home.”
Work hard in silence, let success make the noise
A two-year studying and working hard with many assignments, presentations, field projects is a real challenge for bravery ones only. There could be some sleepless nights and stressful period as the philosophy of Solvay “tough in tough out”. However, they all appeared to challenge you, to make you become stronger and bring out the best of yourself. We see the development inside each person because you have acquired both knowledge and friends, and most importantly more personal skills and confidence in yourself. We believe that you also gain many great friendships and promising partnerships by meeting people from different backgrounds, in class and in fun activities together.
“It’s a great honor and I’m very proud to stay here today. I think that I had a right decision since the last 2 years, as the program sets the foundation for me and for my future”, Mr.Dat Vuong shared after receiving his diploma.
Indeed, some of you have already found a better job opportunity or a promotion, some decided to start your own business. We keep supporting any choices that you’ve made and wish you all the best for your future. We are proud that new master holders of this year are talented and outstanding leaders from different types of business. Those are MNCs, private companies, government & NGO and startups such as Vinamilk, Nike, VP Bank, SCB, Cathay Pacific Airway, Sepzone Linh Trung, Vietnamairlines, Shopee.

Listening to sharing of Ms.Kim Ngan, prof Michel Alle also shared “I was very happy to hear the best student explaining the beautiful journey she had. I’m convinced that we are bringing what we want to bring to Vietnam and we will do it further in Europe, changing the program, constantly and proving it. We’ll always deliver the best European quality in management education in Vietnam”
Each graduate’s story is a different one, inspired and unique. You have gone through an amazing journey and you should be proud of that. Now you are Solvay’s ambassadors and representatives. We have grown and will continue growing together, you and Solvay. In near future Solvay will have a lot of activities for alumni such as business talks, sports, company visits or team building etc… We do hope that you will enjoy it and can continue your lifelong study, get more friendship, partnership to achieve successful career and happy life.
