Anne Drumaux

had the great honour to be the first Solvay professor to teach in Vietnam 23 years ago.

The need for a dedicated Master program for Vietnamese civil servants appeared very rapidly. Leveraging on the experience on public management we had in Brussels and at the same time adapting the curricula to the Vietnamese reality, we launched the Master in Public Management in Hanoi in 1999.

My colleagues and myself have been personally witnesses of the changes in the country economy and society and in the evolution of the expertise and ambitions of the public managers. We are proud to count top civil servants among our alumni.

Beside civil servants, the program attracts also officers of NGO’s and of non-profit Vietnamese and international organizations. The professional diversity in the classes is a true enrichment not only for the participants but also for the teachers.

We are now undertaking a new phase of the development of the Master in Public Management by enlarging the cooperation to other top European Business Schools specialized in public management. So the program will answer better to the need of public managers in a more internationalized world.
