Course: Strategic & Operational Marketing Management

Objective:  introductory course designed to present the basic concepts of marketing management and to offer a conceptual framework

Profile: 

I’m a graduate of Harvard Business School (Master of Business Administration, class of ‘79). Previously, I graduated as Master in Sciences in Management from the Solvay Business School (Free University of Brussels, Belgium, 1975). 

I’m now professor of business administration at  Brussels University   (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and Ecole Polytechnique) where I hold the Chair of Marketing. My specializations include Strategic Marketing Management and International Marketing. Another of my  interests is the Marketing of Art & Culture (I founded a research center on this subject called ARTketing...) 

As part of my duties at Solvay Brussels School I’m the Dean of our Master’s programs in Vietnam. 

Apart from Brussels University I also teach Corporate Strategy. at HEC Ecole de Gestion of Liège University (Belgium) as well as in several post-graduate and executive education programs (also in-company programs) in Europe and Vietnam.  

Besides my teaching experience, I have been practicing marketing both as a manager and a consultant. I began my career with Procter & Gamble and I was Marketing Manager, then General Manager, of Moulinex Belgium marketing operations. Then I created my own investment group and ventured in various start  

I’m also active in the commmunity as member of the Harvard Club of Belgium and Founder of the Belgian Association of Board Directors now « Association des Administrateurs ». 

I’m living in Belgium and I have 4 children. I love jazz and blues, I ‘m fond of cooking and wines, I read a lot about 18th-19th European history and I’m a passionate of soccer…
